Lake Arrowhead in Atlanta Unvells Clubhouse Design, continued
Caldwell-Cline Architects and Designers were given a beautiful knoll site in the middle of the north Georgia Lake Arrowhead community and a clean slate to plan the 8,500 square foot Clubhouse, now under construction and scheduled to open in Spring 2008, along with the new golf course layout.
“Our interior design for the building is open to provide options for flexible use of the space,” said Caldwell-Cline partner Roger Caldwell.
“While the Clubhouse plan is primarily for the use of golfers and dining for the community, a group of golfers, a concurrent business lunch for four in the next room, or an event hosting several hundred people utilizing the total space throughout the Clubhouse may be accommodated,” he added.
One of the main attractions of the new facility will be the Clubhouse’s outdoor gathering space. According to partner Calvin Cline, there will be another 1,000 or more square feet of outdoor dining space overlooking the golf course, as well as an event lawn for planned entertainment gatherings.
“The expansive terrace will also include a large outdoor fireplace adjacent to the dining area,” Cline reported.
The architects envisioned the Lake Arrowhead clubhouse as a refined building design which will provide a warm and casual feeling.
The exterior elevation of the Clubhouse will be highlighted by a covered front porch at the entrance of the building and a larger covered porch off the dining areas. Primarily, the exterior siding of the Clubhouse will feature stone and shingles, and board and batten, providing an Adirondack mountain influenced craftsman appeal.
“We’ve also included some timber detailing around the front and sides of the building to complete the design,” Caldwell pointed out.
A fully equipped golf pro shop and locker room facilities for both men and women are planned. There will also be a full service kitchen and administrative offices for the Club.
