Sienna anticipates recreation complex, elementary school, HCC academic center and H-E-B Plus, continued

Opening this year is a new amenity center – the community’s third recreation complex and fourth pool. Sienna North Amenity Center will have 17,000 square feet of pool deck, with an array of water features, such as two tower slides, a vortex pool and lagoon plunge pool. Located in the Village of Anderson Springs, the center should open this June.

Also opening this year in Anderson Springs is a new elementary school – the community’s third. It follows Sienna’s most recent school opening, Baines Middle School, which first welcomed students in 2006.

Older students will welcome the opening of the Houston Community College (HCC) Missouri City Academic Center this fall on a 50-acre site in Sienna. The campus will have 22 classrooms and labs, as well as offices for faculty and student services. Adjacent to the campus will be a new Fort Bend County library that will serve HCC students and staff as well as the public. The 45,000-square-foot facility will have a main circulation area, two computer labs, 10 tutorial rooms and a children’s corner. About 10,000 square feet will be designated for college use. The library should open mid-2009.

Finally, this fall should see the opening of an H-E-B Plus, a 113,000-square-foot super store that blends elements of the upscale Central Market with the everyday conveniences of an H-E-B grocery. The store will anchor Sienna Village, located at the community’s entrance, which will include another 90,000 square feet of retail space.
